I keep getting 0 chips found on multiple cards; and the input voltage is good; anyone know why?
18:41
By multiple I mean like 10 different cards even ones that I have previously ran that ran good.

Try changing IO cable. Sometimes the small wires inside start to do intermittent connection.

is this considered a bad/good chip?
12:28

what's the best method to remove heatsinks to prevent solder balls forming above the chips? I'm assuming I'm pulling the heatsinks up to fast?

It's hard to determine using that method the only way I know to accurately tell if a chip is working without having it on a board is to use a socket tester
16:44
In reply to this message
Does this actually have any adverse effect that you're noticing? Otherwise I think that's normal and it should correct itself when u put the heatsink back

Hey Patch
From what I'm seeing, the chip is being tested at 1.36v which is good
But your current (A) is at 4, which is waayy too high
So yeah, it's a bad chip

16:49
Your current should be at like 0.4A on a good chip not 4.0A ๐
๐
16:56
It's not a 100% reliable method to indicate if it's an healthy chip, but you can discard those who starts at more than 2.0A
16:57
More accurate method would indeed be a Chip Socket Tester, but you cannot easily get that on the other side of the street like a PSU + multimeter
16:58
Hope that helps

Is my method of testing asic chips ok? or should we have a asic chip tester device? right now just measuring the amp increase rate to detect if an asic chip is bad or good.

I forgot which Whatsminer hashboard type I was testing but to my surprise, the ARC showed PT1 and PT2 option for that particular board. Is that a glitch? It only worked in PT2 mode

In reply to this message
No both tests are different. Normally if one of the test fails there is an issue with the board and it will not work properly in the unit. Measure your signals and components. Something will be off.

That I know but I never seen PT1 and PT2 option on whatsminer hashboard until recently

The board couldnโt be tested in PT1 but PT2 option. Normal tester firmware passed it as well. I am wondering if itโs coding error

Question. Will WM Arc be updated to follow correct hash board signal pattern? Hash boards, version dependent, some are correct showing top right ASIC as last and other times they show bottom one of the last group as Last. Very incorrect representation on website

In reply to this message
There are rare cases of chip card differences. We cannot auto-fix them, as there are no individual features. Please send a dump eeprom, a photo of the board without a radiator. Drawing on the board with the correct sequence of chips, the exact model of the device and the board. Thanks.

DG

It is actually quite easy as there are individual features. If you have 18 groups of Asics on bottom, the top asic Signal of 18th group goes up to top half of hashboard to 19th group bottom ASIC. If you have 19 groups of asics on bottom half, the signal goes down, left side of hashboard and starts on top of 20th group
09:24
It only matters if bottom half of hashboard has odd number of groups or even
