Hey Patch
S17 is tested at 21v with ARC tester and a 30v/10a workbench PSU
S19 is tested at around 13.8v, but S19 pro is at 12.8v
Amp always to max setting, it'll set itself. S17 will be at around 5.5a, S19 can show up to 10amp and go down quickly

I have a question about a S17 board i am working on. The board gives 48 chips in normal mode and 4 chips in advanced mode. The miner itself gives also 4 chips. I replaced chip 3 4 5 and rewrote eeprom. I checked all the resistors around the chips and everything seems fine. Any advice?

Try measuring RX when advanced is turned on. Measure diode values of each signal also, it will hint if properly installed or if a resistor is weak

What’s the difference between advanced en normal mode if the tester tests the board? What values should I check see on the Rx signal ? 1,8 volt? I thought RX is gives feedback to the ctrl board and tester which it does as it gives information about the 4 chips. It occurs that there are more problems around chip 4 on average then on other chips.
J|
19:19
Jonathan | D-Central
Hey Arthur, my understanding is normal test mode is a simple "chip count" while advanced mode is polling each chip from their ic2 address. Maybe ARC devs can confirm. In any case I guarantee you dont always get the same readings if you test in normal agaisnt advanced. I will normally get all my chips working on normal mode, once it is done, test advanced and if it gets red or fails then, I will measure RX and BI in that mode. Most time its the one that gives up in advanced.
19:22
and yeah, your understanding of RX is correct and you should aim for ~1.7v give or take 0.1v. Test domains by domains and when you find the one that is faulty, identify the faulty chip(s) within that domain.

im diagnosing a S17 board right now:
- just removed all the heatsinks from the board. and I see lots of solder balls on the chips. I'm not sure if it was me or this board is actually that bad. And noticed a trace also was burned, so i'm assuming this board was over abused.
- using the ARC tester, will it always show 0 ASIC's if i removed 1 chip?
looks like im starting with the hardest problem. diagnosing 0 asic's.
