there may be problems with the characters in the password or the network name, we recommend using only letters and numbers. Unfortunately, we cannot change this, this is a limitation in the functions of the operating system kernel.

Most of the time the buttons are simply used up, so we swap them with other boards that we have that are not working anymore.

But those ones that aren't working, it would be nice to have a maintenance guide so we can rescue some of them

No need to send pictures for now, we're good, we have many testers so we're not stuck on a particular problem.

It was mainly about asking for specific maintenance guide for testers, so we can repair the ones that are broken/non-usable

Does anyone know how to solve this pic control error? Have tried reprogramming the PIC and EEPROM, replacing pic chip, reflowing the area. The PIC does have 3.3v power, and there doesn’t seem to be any shorts, so I’m very confused

In reply to this message
Most of the time it's the connection between the tester and the board.
Try to restart (unplug the power of the tester and then plug it back) and then plug it back to the board.

Otherwise, try with another cable
18:29
That's what I've been doing when it was working well before and all of a sudden PIC Control appeared, and most of the time it's working again

On that note, on an S17+ board, supplying 14V ended up frying the boost converter circuit on one of the boards - the L1 coil couldn't handle the undervoltage
10:57
It fried on the third test cycle - literally. With smoke.
11:05
What I found so far, and please correct me if I'm wrong, is that a voltage of 18V - 20V is about right

I just realized that it show 0 asic because due to high demand of current (more than 10A) voltage decrease.

What power supply do you recommend ?

Is there a way to manual set 18V on the original APW9+ ?
A

In reply to this message
Hi! We use Uniontest 6015, you can trust this manufacturer. There are many power supplies that, at the stated 20 amps, give out 5. You also need good wires, otherwise there will be a large voltage drop on the wires.
21:54
We don't use APW blocks, so we can't help with that.

hey guys, has anyone ever seen a board show only a few chips good and then after running for a minute, the board shows 48 chips, and then drops back to some working chips for a second, then go back to 48 good chips randomly on an S17 board?
J|
12:05
Jonathan | D-Central
In reply to this message
Typical behavior of the 17 series. As many have already mentioned here, a complete reflow of the board will bring stability to the diagnostic. It is possible that these are microfractures or a cold solder joint. Also it happens that the tin on the top of the chips "slips" on the sides and create small balls of tin which lodge in the contacts of the chips, so a complete cleaning is necessary before reflowing these hashboards.
D

I see this very often, it doesn’t necessary mean that the EEPROM is bad or corrupted, just the arc doesn’t recognize it. Manual set on the ARC the model of the board and it should be ok ! If after fixing the board it shows eeprom errors while mining, flashing is highly recommended!

Try unplugging and cleaning the IO port of tester. Inspect wire ends to see if dirty and clean as well. You can also swap IO cable as they tend to break inside over time. If nothing else works, your tester might have a fuse issue, easy to fix but I'll let ARC assist you with that if it is the case.
