how can i change tester frequency and on which frequency it works ?
i have s17+ looks very good on tester but not working on antminer and have only two temp sensor on antminer

the bitrate cannot be changed and it does not make sense, since changing it will not change anything. I advise you to put the board in the freezer, cool it down and run the test, it often helps to identify such defects.

on that same topic, can you explain why a warm/hot board will pass the test but sometimes the same board but cool will not pass it?

different materials have different expansion during heating and cooling, this gives you the opportunity to find a soldering defect or a chip defect.

You don’t have any problem, you just have a broken board with a floating defect, you just need to make this breakage stable

Agreed, however fixing temp sensors has been a growing issue with me also, and I have recently been trying to dig around and experiment. Was there a chip replaced or a heatsink replaced around either of those sensors?

It’s just a new functionality rather than a problem, this flashing indicates that chip temp has big difference related to the board temp

My issue with the temperature sensors is that I can only tell if it's an issue when the board is inside a miner and I go through the logs, I don't know how to use a testing tool (whether is this one or the unviersal testing jig from bitmain) to accurately test temperature sensors, and information about it is hard to find. let me know if you find any useful info about it

On a WM board temp sensor is not connected to any chip it's connected using i2c

@arc tester my question about WM is that when i try to perform chip test with the fixture, it shows "RST Fail" and "Check Power" then 0 ASICs. Sorry temp sensor thing was an entirely different matter, I saw you guys were talking about it so I just wanted to provide some insight from what I know :)

The error messages should be in the kernel logs when you run the machine.

so the arc tool has no capibility to test the temperature sensors?

RST Fail means you rst signal doesnt go all the way through all the chips
You just need to find where it breaks

Usually check power comes when you have 0 answers from the chips, in your case it's probably caused by the same failure

Try rebooting the arc sometimes it will just go away

This happen mostly on t17 and s17 , if you used an asic different from the board Level it can trigger this and secondly check temp sensor 2 and 3 cos if the sensors didn’t respond right some of the ASIC chips will pop up as defective

As far as I know you have WM version of the arc. So your problem is associated with the tester not knowing some of the newer wm boards

I work for Dalton ASIC Repair. I had a problem earlier where several people on my team suddenly had eeprom errors everytime they plugged in their board. Sometimes it would show an error on one tester and not on the other. I had this particular problem with a S19JPro I’m doing research on. It would show the error again even after eeprom. I meant to send photos but I have had allot going on today

Turn on tester with connected the board (Has to be connected)

Thank you very much arc ! They are all 1.2v.... and the voltage between pin 2 and pin 5 of LDO for the first 6 chips measures 1.2v as well

It should be fine tbh
Those voltages are usually around 1.4 on wm boards

But when I perform the same test on another board all the votages were around 1.8.... thank you very much for your help though really appreciate it !

I do not have an oscilloscope. What can i find more with clk? I only use ro shorting currently

For example: clk signal goes from chip1 to 65 (S17+), if you measure 25mhz clock behind chip13 and behind chip14 no, chip14 is Bad, or soldering is bad

Ok i looks like I found something out for a s17+ What i experience with the dichotopy method is that when the chain stops the 5 chips after the stopped chain can al be part of the problem. Is that right? So in my example the chain work to chip 50 en stopped at chip 51 reflowing chip 51 but didn’t solve the problem. Reflowing the complete domain 51–55 solved it. Can someone confirm this?
